Work With Your Consultant
Developing a true relationship with your consultant is the only sure way to find the next career opportunity that will meet the needs of both you and your future employer. That’s why one of your most important interviews is the one you have with the recruitment consultant. It’s your opportunity to get their attention and to give them an honest overview of what you bring to the table.
Prepare Yourself
Your consultant will expect you to be a little nervous, and will also expect you to have done some preparation for your interview. Spending some time in preparation beforehand will really payoff during the interview process.
Be Proactive
Review your CV so you can give detailed information about past roles, accountabilities and achievements. Know what it is you are looking for in your next role and ask questions about any positions discussed in the interview. At the conclusion of the interview speak with your consultant about the next steps and timelines - then follow up. Don’t be pushy, but do be proactive. If you don’t approach the opportunity with enthusiasm, you can hardly expect others to.
